Contemporary History

Internationally, two Australian states began to offer free public transportation as the war in Iran was causing fuel pricing to increase astronomically. The administration rolling out this new initiative understands it won’t solve all cost-of-living issues faced by Australian citizens, but it aims to make life more manageable. Along with this, public transportation services will be monitored and adjusted to accommodate for a large influx of usage.

Nationally, ‘No Kings’ protests have seen a major increase the past couple of months against the Trump administration and the events that have taken place within Trump’s leadership. People are protesting the increased presence of ICE agents in major cities across the country. The deployment of immigration officers have created immense fear for all citizens as they have been violent toward legal and illegal people. The people at these protests want to protect democracy for the United States.

Locally, the nation’s largest cherry blossom tree collection is preparing for the 50th annual Cherry Blossom Festival in New Jersey. During this season of radiant blooms, there will be a Cherry Blossom 10K run, 1-mile fun run and walk, and Family Fun Day throughout the month of April.

Personal History

As exciting as my senior year of high school has been, I don’t have much to report back to headquarters. As of writing, I have committed to the University of Rhode Island for Medical Laboratory Science and have picked out, probably, the most gorgeous prom dress I have seen. It’s been hard to get to this point in my life, but I’m so happy I am here and I can’t wait to see what the future holds.
